TRAVEL

HELLO,

ARE PLANNING A PERFECT GET AWAY TO AFRICA FOR A SAFARI?

ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO SHOPPING FOR THE SAFARI?

ARE YOU NOT SURE WHAT TO PACK SINCE YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TO AFRICA BEFORE?

ARE YOU NOT SURE ABOUT WHAT TO SHOP FOR YOUR SAFARI TO AFRICA?

Your girl got you covered all the away, Am very excited to help you shop the right items and products for your first time adventure to Africa. Africa is a very exciting and nice place to be, it’s full of different tourist destinations perfect for your safari. Though the perfect areas for safaris are mostly EAST
AFRICA AND SOUTH AFRICA. This does not mean you can’t have an adventure in the other countries too.

THE PERFECT SHOPPING LIST FOR A SAFARI TO AFRICA.

1.       SUNSCREEN.

If you don’t know this then allow me inform you that in Africa most of the time its summer although we have both the dry and wet seasons throughout the year, it’s mostly dry and tropical seasons. You need to carry your sunscreen especially if you are coming from a country that has mostly the wet seasons that is to say winter. I have heard some tourist say it’s hot compared to where they come from. But not that hot you can easily adapt to the weather in just days

.

2.       SUN GLASSES.

These will help protect your eyes from direct sun rays, so it’s very much important to buy them at least two pairs in case you lose one you still have another one.

3.       A HUT.

This will also help you protect your entire face from direct heat, this will also protect your skin because the face has the most sensitive skin that needs to be protected from the sun rays.

4.       LIGHT WEIGHT CLOTHES.

This is important because you don’t want your entire trip to be messed up because of the type of clothes you packed or shopped. If you don’t want to be constantly sweating and uncomfortable you need to pack only light weight clothes these will help you get the right amount of fresh air you need especially if you are visiting the national parks like kidepo national park in Uganda. It’s hot in the northern parts of Uganda where this park is located yet very nice and beautiful.

5.       INSECT REPELLENTS.

Because it’s a safari things like camping are common you need to pack and shop the best brand products you know of, because most safaris are done in national parks expect to find insects there of different types. Though they are not deadly you still don’t want them to bite you either.

6.       MOISTURIZERS/LOTIONS.

You need to keep your skin moist all the time if you don’t want it to dry out because the skin tends to dry out most especially in the dry seasons, so if your safari is in the same time don’t forget to pack the best products you especially those that contain aqua in them.

7.       LIP CARE PRODUCTS.

Just like you need to take good care of the skin you need to care for the lips too because they too tend to crack especially if you are not good at taking enough water daily .lip balm will do just the magic especially if its moisturizing.

8.       LONG SLEEVED CLOTHES.

Yes I know I mentioned this before that you should pack and buy light weight clothes, you must be wondering why am saying you need to pack these too. If your safari includes activities like gorilla tracking, this means you are going to go into the jungle or forest to do this activity, you might be allergic to some of the leaves or flowers in jungle .you don’t need your skin to come in direct contact with the plantations. The insects too might also bite you so you need to protect yourself.

9.       RUBBER BOATS.

Just in case it rains, you need the perfect pair of shoes that won’t be slippery especially in the forest. The fun must go on so prepare yourself enough

.

10.    JACKETS AND SWEATERS.

You will need these for the night time as it gets too cold at night. If you don’t mind carrying a scarf, gloves and socks pack them as well you might need them.

11.    MEDICATION/MEDICAL DOCUMENTS AND A FIRST AID KIT.

This is a reminder in case you have an illness that you are treating kindly pack your medications at least enough to last you your entire trip. Not because there are no hospitals in Africa, we have very good hospitals with highly educated and professional medical personals. But because safaris are in the wilderness you need your medicine as close as possible to you. And a first aid kit as well. Safaris include visiting wild animals.in case of an attack for example a snake bite, you have the first aid kit with you.

12.    PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS.

You need to pack these items and products like tooth paste, toilet papers, deodorants, hair products, skin products, sanitary towels and some pain killers.especially if you are going to be staying at the camping sites. These might be provided at the resort or hotel you might have booked as well. But you just need to pack them just in case.

13.    FLASH LIGHT.

This is mostly important to those whose safari includes camping out in the wilderness mostly and those who go for night game drives in the national parks.

14.    CAMERAS, CHARGERS, SD CARDS AND EXTRA BATTERIES.

Just to capture a lot of memories to remind you of your safari to Africa some videos and pictures need to be taken. So remember to pack them.
